Reading and Comprehension
Individualized reading instruction for students needing foundational reading skills, students with dyslexia and other learning needs, and students wanting academic enhancement. As students grow academically, they may need support with reading comprehension and literature study.
Essay Writing and Coaching
Students learn to generate ideas, organize, and write persuasively and authentically using their unique voices.
Students receive support with high school and college application essays so they can successfully tell their own stories and meet deadlines.
Workload Management / Academic Coaching
When students need help managing academics, building skills, and balancing school with busy schedules such as intense athletics, performing or traveling, we are here to guide them toward independence and success.
Colleen Gwin, MA
Colleen Gwin holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English and a Master’s Degree in English as well as current continuing education credits in education. Her students attend rigorous public and independent schools on both coasts. As an experienced reading and writing instructor, she guides students to approach their academic journeys with confidence and joy as they work toward independence and success.
Students may need help preparing to apply to high school and college, enhancing their academic skills, or managing busy school workloads. Colleen is familiar with traveling families, performers, and athletes as well as neurodiverse students and students with special educational circumstances.
Please reach out for a complimentary call and discussion about your student. Sessions are available via zoom across time zones. In the Los Angeles area, in person sessions are available by special arrangement and referral.
